VASUKI TAAL is actually a pond formed by holding the water of river Kalika, a part of Ganges, where Vasuki, the king of serpents resides every moment. It is described in Skanda Purana that on the full moon day of the month of Shravan, there is a sight of Vasuki Nag, a mani-rich snake in this lake. The circumference of Vasuki lake is about 700 meters. This Son river, originating from Kedarnath, meets Mandakini at Sonprayag. The water of Vasuki Taal is absolutely clear.
